SOBER SESSIONS
Sober Sessions is a series of musical experiences in order to build a judgment-free, sober community for folks who find difficulties participating in an industry that's dominated by and heavily rooted in alcohol and substance misuse. We'll provide a diverse swath of musicians and artists to perform for sober community members and, before free performances, start the conversation with a panel discussion about the important role music plays in one's recovery, mental health and physical health alike. Mocktails will be available at all events as well (at least one performance will be held at The Phoenix which is an alcohol and substance free space. The only cost for entry is 48 hours of sobriety).
Performances will be SATURDAY, MAY 13TH and SUNDAY, AUGUST 27TH.
Music community members who participate in the sober concerts will be invited to join free Phoenix events - from fitness and music to art and meditation, and much more. Phoenix events are free to anyone with at least 48 hours of continuous sobriety—including allies and supporters of those in recovery.
Substance misuse knows no socioeconomic status nor does it concern itself with gender identification, race, or beyond. Everyone is affected, which makes our events all-inclusive. In past events, we've opened up the pre-show panel discussion with the artists to the audience to break the fourth wall and create community between the performers and audience members alike. We're humans first and we're striving to treat one another accordingly.
